Applications for our first HEdIS Summer School on “Innovative IoT for Sustainable Citizens” are open now. The overarching subject of the programme is the Internet of Things (IoT) that is so far underachieved even though it is said to be the driver of the fourth industrial revolution and Future Internet. SAVE THE DATE for our first Summer School

The title of the first HEdIS Summer School is finally set: “Innovative IoT for Sustainable Citizens”. We are excited to announce that the Summer School will run from November 20th to 4th of December, with face-to-face lectures and workshops taking place from November 23rd to 29th at Nelson Mandela University, in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The HEdIS workshop started with presentations on sustainability research projects at the Oldenburg University. This was followed by workshop sessions where participants chose and took part one of three round table discussions, which focused on the three main themes of the workshop as well as the upcoming summer school: water management, energy efficiency and sustainable mobility.   On 21st March 2017, Dr. Brenda Scholtz (Head of Deparment Computing Sciences at Nelson Mandela University (NMU), Port Elizabeth, South Africa) gave a guest lecture about international university collaboration and academic writing.
